White Storks are very characteristic to Masuria and polish landscape. Poland inhabits 25% of the world population of white storks, whith the greatest concentration located in the north - eastern Poland (Masuria).

The white stork is associated with wetlands, river valleys and agricultural areas. In Poland, storks spend about five months a year. In Poland, storks nest more than in 15 countries of the European Union combined.
